progressive cyberdadaism from our nation’s capital
When I was younger I liked to watch scary movies. I find that I don’t so that much anymore. I don’t think that I’m less interested, it’s that the urge is filled by reading comments on right-wing blogs.
Take this from Powerline commenter G. Will, who is deconstructing the psychology of the liberals:
It shocks me sometimes to see how people don’t get the demographics of this country, even after the last election with all of those maps showing “red and blue” states.
There are some real simple facts we can point out here:
-> people in the cities are under much more social pressure in a much more diverse environment, they are far more likely to adapt beliefs under peer pressure, therefore, then people in rural or surburan areas
-> people in rural and surburan areas… what are we talking about here? The white picket fence America. As the Left on the West and East coast like to call us, we are the “inferior”, “fly over states”… to embrace this America is to, somehow, discount their experience. This is pride. It is not the good kind.
As Americans we should be embracing the diversity in America not based on what others say, but on the basis of charity and mercy.
-> singles do not have much stake in the future. Married couples are either having children and considering their future, or they are planning to and already thinking about the future.
Some singles are divorced, some just never plan to marry, and so on.
Can you say “feel good politics” versus “reality based politics”?
-> Some odd 77% of the country is Christian.

I am so flippin’ sick of the poor-me attitude of these people. This won’t help but the fact is that most of the people I know - so stressed as we are from living in these diverse cities and pressured by our peers to conform - don’t have a spare second to ever, ever, ever even think about hating on our brothers and sisters in the rest of the country. It’s my theory of compassionate living through keeping busy.
