Hillary, Marx, and Bernstein

by @ 2:08 pm. Filed under Uncategorized

I know, it almost sounds like a lawfirm.

Election Central picked up this bit of infoganda from the Romney campaign trail:

Look at how the Democrats like Hillary Clinton think about our economy. She said the other day some very interesting things. You probably saw them. She said that it is quote “time to reject the idea of an on-your-own society and replace it with shared responsibility.” She says she prefers a quote “we’re all-in-it-together society.” I see — out with Adam Smith, in with Karl Marx.

What you may not know is that HRC is almost quoting Jared Bernstein’s All Together Now which constrasts Your On Your Own (YOYO) economic policy with We’re In This Together (WITT). The acronyms pretty much speak for themselves.

If Romney mangled Hillary correctly, she was contrasting YOYO with We’re In It Together (WIIT). True, she could have said We Have It Together Economics. That would have been worse.
