progressive cyberdadaism from our nation’s capital
Over the weekend I’ve experienced a Spam infestation of gargantuan proportions. As a result, I’ve come up with a more comprehensive list of ip addresses to block, and strings that go into the moderation cue. It’s annoying to spend time doing this, and I’m trying to think up a way of going after the spammers.
To keep these spammers to a minimum, I’ve added the following topics to my “send to moderation” list. That means, in all likelihood, they’ll get deleted, since I don’t have the capacity to review each of these posts individually.
My point is that spam is harmful to free speech. It hurts those of us who are trying to maintain blogs that eschew the lowest common denominator, and it hurts those that want to make a point on topics that coincide with common spam words.
That said, here’s my list of words that get sent to moderation, and thus, probably deleted. I apologize in advance for anyone who wants to comment on these topics. And, if you have an idea of how to go after the spammers, I’d really like to hear it.
