And, you know what, it’s pretty interesting:

So, the smears are beginning. A call this afternoon from a DC gossip columnist who was called by a Republican finance person alleging I had done something wrong to him five years ago.

All I wanted to do was fight back - to defend myself and preserve my “reputation.” But then I made a quick decision: I called the columnist and said that I apologized and I was wrong. Do I remember the situation? Nope. Does that matter? Probably not. I am called to be reconciled to my brother and that person, whoever he is, is my brother. And so I am sorry. It felt amazingly freeing actually.

It’s one of those stories that makes you wonder: what if instead of David Kuo, Faith Based Initiator the story was narrated by Karl Rove, sado-masochist. I think it would go something like this:

So, I got this call from a DC gossip columnist, alleging money laundering, or blackmail, or extortion, or some petty-ante crock from 5 years ago- as if someone of my position has time to remember when he may or may not have stuck someone with a knife.

So, I called up on old friend who hacks into her email, and we leak the names of all her classified sources to Bob Novak. That was fun. Who says revenge is best served cold?
