progressive cyberdadaism from our nation’s capital
Excerpt from an upcoming 60 minutes interview:
President Bush is absolutely certain that he has the U.S. and Iraq on the right course, says Woodward. So certain is the president on this matter, Woodward says, that when Mr. Bush had key Republicans to the White House to discuss Iraq, he told them, “I will not withdraw, even if Laura and Barney are the only ones supporting me.”
I think it’s interesting in this off-the-cuff remark, that he mentions just Laura and Barney. Are his daughters not so much in agreement with him? Of course, that means Mrs. Beasley (the other dog) doesn’t see snout-to-snout with him either.

I could say something about daughers being the father’s property, biblically speaking,
so their opinions don’t really count, but I won’t go there.
Then again, maybe Jenna and NotJenna have wisened up. They could have been corrupted by those
heathen universities. And one of the twins, if I’m not mistaken, is teaching in some
underprivileged area.

I’ve lost track of the twins. DCist used to follow their lives pretty closely, particularly when they were hanging out in Georgetown and U St.
That said, Jenna was allegedly teaching at elementary school in Columbia Heights. Then, I vaguely remember that she moved to somewhere in Latin America. As far as not-Jenna goes, no idea.
Yes, I have a sneaking suspicion that the twins make a distinction between him as Dad-in-chief, and his disasterous domestic and foreign policies.

What’s with all the love your getting from the Express? Are you paying somebody over there?

The key with the Express is to mention the Bush twins or Mrs. Beasley. Both in the same post is pretty much irrestible.
