Glenn Greenwald’s book is a NYT best-seller, openning at #11. This is a good time to remind folks that Hacks, my potentially best-selling expose of blogosphere propaganda and disinformation still doesn’t have a publisher. Also, I’d like to remind you that Father’s Day is coming up. I’m just saying, potentially you could publish my book, and then buy it for your father.
I see that some of Steve Clemons’ readers are jealous of the lush locations he gets to visit for his job like Athens or Mykonos. How petty. I’m also going to be travelling later on today in case any of my readers want to compare notes. I’ll be at the lovely Silver Spring Metro station at 6, a brief 2.5 hour visit to Timberlake’s from 6:30-9, followed by an evening stopover around the exotic Van Ness/UDC Metro stop.
Speaking of Drinking Liberally, if you happen to live in town, we’re organizing an outing to see Gore’s movie on Saturday, June 10. Judging from email response thus far, I’d say it’s going to be a fair-sized crowd.
Speaking of Glenn Greenwald, the DC Drinking Liberally chapter will be sponsoring his reading on June 14 at Mark & Orlando’s.
Speaking of Slobidan Milosevich, I notice that his death has been cleared of suspicion. Well, mostly cleared of suspicion. There is this bit:

Associates who visited him were permitted to carry boxes, briefcases and other containers through security checkpoints with only minimal scrutiny, and occasionally transported whiskey, tranquilizers and other unprescribed medications to the office he maintained inside the prison complex, according to the report.

So, people regularly brought him whiskey and pills. And unidentified boxes. Except for that everything was completely kosher.

What could possibly go wrong with whiskey and tranqs moving in and out of his cell? Well, in more than out, I guess.

Your DL group is an absolute inspriation. I can’t get my DFA group to get anything going. I have to get better at that.

Thanks for that, eRobin. Things have been going well for a while now with DL. I’m sure we’ll have ups and downs over the summer, but I tend to be optimistic.
