progressive cyberdadaism from our nation’s capital
Looking at my visitor stats, I can see that the mention in the WaPo Express kicked in today. Fair enough. Folks sometimes don’t read newspapers the day they get printed. You’re reading, and that’s what’s important. Keep it up.
Meanwhile, I thought I’d mention two things you may be interested in: Drinking Liberally and Bike to Work Day.
First, Drinking Liberally. I’m one of the co-conspirators behind this august organization, at least as it plays out here in DC. We meet every Thursday at Timberlake’s, located conveniently on the Dupont Circle Metro stop, from 6:30-9. For the most part, we talk about stuff and drink. Once a month we bring in a guest speaker. Also, we’ll do special events like “Dinner and a Movie.” More on that soon.
Secondly, this Friday here in DC is “Bike to Work Day.” I did this last year, and plan on participating this Friday. The idea is very simple: you bike to work. If you register in advance (see here) you get a free t-shirt. More importantly, you send a message to your fellow co-workers: biking to work is fun, it’s free, and you starve the terrorists (and Exxon-Mobil) of petro-dollars.
That’s like win to the power of 3 (or 4).
