progressive cyberdadaism from our nation’s capital
Then, I started to realize that at least some of what’s happening in New Orleans was predictable. I know Bush is going around saying it was all unforseeable, but you and I both know that if there’s anything Bush does more habitually than fail miserably, it’s lying. Why should the US spend money on New Orleans when we could spend a lot more money transforming Iraq into a Shiite theocracy?
Knowing how the Powerliars take delight in leading their readers astray, I surfed over to their place wondering if they would try to defend Bush over the lack of FEMA planning and subsequent destruction of New Orleans. They took a different tack. They figured the important thing was to defend Bush’s failure to do anything about global warming:
You’re all aware of the efforts by various flaky leftists to blame Hurricane Katrina on “global warming,” etc.
…
Of course, facts have never stood in the Left’s way.
So, I wondered who on the left was he talking about? Yes, Robert Kennedy Jr. did say: “Now we are all learning what it’s like to reap the whirlwind of fossil fuel dependence which Barbour and his cronies have encouraged. Our destructive addiction has given us a catastrophic war in the Middle East and - now — Katrina is giving our nation a glimpse of the climate chaos we are bequeathing our children.” But, Powerliar doesn’t say Robert Kennedy Jr. He says The Left.
Now, I’m not sure how immoral it is to blame a natural catastrophe on global warming, which has arguably harmed nature. I just figured that if Powerliar says The Left, he doesn’t mean one person. If so, he could just as easily have taken any other representative group that Robert Kennedy Jr. is a member of. He could have said “facts have never stood in the way of Kennedys” or “facts have never stood in the way of middle-aged men.”
Oddly enough, the first google hit I got on a group that tried to connect Katrina and global warming was the radical leftists at Time magazine. If you recall it was Time magazine that named Powerliar their Blog of the Year.
I just find that amusing.
