Bolton. It’s What’s for Breakfast.

Michael Moore ponders the future of the “Party of Values”.

Washington Post:

The Senate voted 54 to 38 to end debate on Bolton’s nomination. That was six votes short of the 60 needed to stop filibusters in the 100-member chamber. It suggested that Bolton has lost ground since May 26, when 57 senators voted to end the filibuster before one of them switched for parliamentary reasons.

Okay, so far, so good. Then I read this remark from Reuters:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House on Tuesday accused Senate Democrats of playing politics by blocking for a second time the confirmation of John Bolton as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

“Playing politics”? If anyone gets to say they’re doing politics at a professional level, I’d say the Senate would have to qualify. When Bush gets a check up, is the guy who does the check up “playing doctor?” Maybe he’s thinking about when he goes to the ranch in Crawford. I agree that’s what you call “playing cowboy.”
